In the near future, the public will be able to see vegetables and fruits on their table produced in plant factories with fully-controlled environments, regardless of season and origin.
Imagine this: every bowl of salad or vegetables served for your enjoyment at a restaurant is directly harvested from a flourishing shelf using LED lighting in the vicinity, and every bite is fresh and full of nutrition. Based on an insight into the developmental trend of New Agriculture, 3i Agritech Co., Ltd., founded in 2011, established its industry cluster team in 2015 to combine the forces of solar energy, LED light source panels, ICT remote monitoring and management systems and agricultural technology. This initiative came in response to increasing limitations of resources posed by climate change; food crises and food safety; and so as to develop a breakthrough in agricultural production. Our cluster team managed to standardize and modularize the entire set of plant factory systems and components so as to reduce production and purchasing costs. They also invested two years in developing an intelligent agricultural management system. This year, the team is going to step up their efforts in developing Cloud and IoT technologies to meet the expectations of labor reduction and safety management. Some other important achievements of theirs include the development of plant light source technology, the creation of a plant cultivation knowledge base and the introduction of virtual reality technology for the simulation of factory construction services. These achievements allow us to formulate comprehensive service capabilities for a turnkey- plant factory that produces organic, ecological, green, safe and healthy foods. In addition to branching out into China, the cluster team is aggressively expanding their reach into the Middle East, USA, Japan and Russia.
